Santa Barbara City College Adult Education Program
Members of the Diabetes Resource Center offer Diabetes Classes through Adult Ed. Many of these classes are in the evening or at lunchtime. Pick up a catalog at the Schott Center, 310 W. Padre Street (687-0812), or at the Wake Center, 300 N. Turnpike Road (964-6853). Fall quarter catalog published in the Santa Barbara News-Press the last Sunday of August; Winter Schedule published the last Sunday of December; Spring Schedule published the last Sunday of March. SDRI presents ongoing free programs to educate people with diabetes, family members and caregivers about the basics of living with and managing diabetes. The following programs are offered to the public year round and are held at the institute.
Nutrition Class for People with Diabetes

Diabetes Support Group
1st Friday of each month, 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm
Provides ongoing discussion, exchange of information on control, diet and exercise for adults with type 1 or type 2 diabetes.
Monthly Public Tours
2nd Thursday of each month, 10:OO am
Tour the facility and learn about the latest progress in diabetes research and care at Sansum Diabetes Research Institute, and meet some of the people involved in the cutting edge work at SDRI.
