Medi-Cal for Children provides no-cost comprehensive health, dental and vision coverage for children and pregnant women.* Eligibility is determined by family size, children's ages and family income. This program is available to eligible U.S. citizens, nationals or immigrants.

*Families whose income is higher than the allowable limits for no-cost Medi-Cal for Children will have a share of cost (similar to a monthly deductible) based on their income and family size.

Healthy Families provides low-cost health, dental and vision coverage for children who are not eligible for no-cost Medi-Cal for Children. Monthly premiums are $4 to $9 per month with a maximum of $27 per family. Eligibility is determined by family size, children's ages and family income. This program is available to U.S. citizens, U.S.nationals and "qualified" immigrant children under age 19.
